DO IT ON THE FLOOR
Back Walk - Travelling Step
The Back Walk is a natural complement to the forward walk, and by alternating between the two steps you create a completely new step that is the basis for social foxtrot.
Dance a Forward walk and then follow it directly with a Back Walk. You?ll find that you ended up moving sideways to the man?s left and lady?s right. If you continue to follow this pattern, you can travel right down the floor.
Because this combination will take you straight sideways, you will eventually run out of space. You can simply curve the combination to the left slightly to move around the corner. Or you can move on the next step in our syllabus (Left Turn), where you?ll learn an even smoother solution to the problem!
Suggested Combination: Forward Walk, Back Walk, Forward Walk, Back Walk.
