1. BOX STEP
STEP DEMO
The Box Step is the basis for Waltz (and many other dances), and can eventually develop into a strong turning step. Our Box Step demo shows two boxes, the first without rotation and the second with a slight rotation to the left.
DO IT BY YOURSELF
Video 1: Man's Foot Positions
Video 2: Lady's Foot Positions
DO IT WITH MUSIC
Count: 123 123
DO IT WITH A PARTNER
Video 1: Maintaining a good dance position.
Video 2: Rotate the Box Step to make it look and feel more natural.
DO IT ON THE FLOOR
Box Step - Turning Step
Turning the Waltz Box gradually to the left is the key point for doing it on the floor.
This will also be a good corner step and changing direction step once you get moving with the Change Steps.
Suggested Combination: Box Step after Box Step baby!
DO IT WITH STYLE
Video 1: Give your Waltz more sweeping elegance by reaching your legs on count 2.
